Busy, Busy Day
Today has been absolutely crazy. First off I got Non off to work, then had to unscramble all the wires from my Comcast Modem and get them in the box. Why can't you ever get stuff back in the box it came in? I tried and tried and finally after re-arranging stuff several times managed to get it all in there with only one tiny tear in the flap. Not bad. Then I had to grab breakfast and coffee, chat with DJ when she called and head for the eye doc. He didn't warn me that he was going to dilate my eyes. So today of course is the sunniest day we've had in weeks. I leave the doc's office next to hospital, head for Lowe's and then remember I have to go to Comcast which is on the other side of hospital. Back again to Three Mile Lane and on to Comcast. Get the modem and head back to town. Drive to Court House and have to ask directions to tax office. Pay my taxes and don't forget receipt. Then I'm off to Staples for highlighter for Bible that won't fade through to the other page... they don't carry those. So I got a box of colored pencils instead. I have a hundred colored pencils here somewhere but I couldn't find a one of them this morning. So after Staples I go to Clare Bridge and see if I can figure out what happened to Jo's bright red lipsticks. Kylie said she saw Jo's pic and she wasn't the same without her lipstick. I suddenly realized she was right. Jo almost always wears lipstick. So when I got there Angie and I looked and finally in the bathroom drawer in a bag we found 8-10 tubes of her lipstick, so the lost was found and I was very glad I hadn't lost them in the move. That's what I was really afraid I'd done, but now I know I didn't. Jo was asleep so I headed off to Walmart for some more seal a meal rolls and then over to Winco to pick up last of the weekly items. Finally made it back to Lafayette Post Office for the mail. Got home just in time to fix lunch. (Leftover stew and cottage cheese). Now to set up the modem. I got all the wires connected in the back, but the computer wouldn't go online. The number I was given to call didn't work, so I called Comcast again. Edward reset the modem, then finally had me restart the computer and voila Google appears!! I tried to get the dial tone on the phone but no luck so he began to work on that. Then after several minutes he says he'll have to call me back because it looks like it's going to take awhile, just be sure the phone and everything is plugged into the back. SOOOooo. I look and sure enough the phone plug is on the floor. It evidently wasn't pushed in all the way and fell out and as soon as I plugged it in, the dial tone was there. It's a good thing Edward couldn't see my red face from there... Anyway, now all is back to normal and we are online with all 3 computers and my phone is working great. So much for the 96 days of the $80 router from Netgear. It may have a lifetime warranty, but you can't get your money back; they will send you a new router. I don't want another router and now don't need one. Non said I could give it to someone else. Who wants a router that only lasts 3 months? I said I wouldn't give another one to someone knowing it probably wasn't going to last that long. That's not even nice. So I'll just consider it a lesson learned and Thank the Lord that he was able to provide me with a brand new modem that includes a router and wi-fi inside for the same monthly price I was paying for the other modem. Timing is the Lords and I am very grateful. Time to relax and find my kitchen. Fried chicken, hash browns and green beans or salad for dinner tonight. I saved my points. No more pie for me. I've now officially lost 16.2 lbs and I am sticking to my plan because it works for me. My size 18 jeans fit me great and I'm enjoying this new season until I can get into my size 16 again...
